St. Pat's Day!

Our annual St. Patrick's Day silly pic:
It was a lovely day full of green pee, green milk, green pancakes, a "Lucky" treasure hunt, gold coins, silly photos, cutting down of a tall green giant, corned beef and cabbage, some baby time for me (PEPS), and topped off with rainbow cupcakes!

Something to Tell You

Just a quick note to say, I love the way before H has anything to say she says, "Mom I have something to tell you..." It's sort of her way of politely interrupting, her way of making sure I know what she has to say is important, and maybe so I will listen more fully. Anyhow it's cute, and funny, and I need to remember to write these things when I'm thinking of them.
H and I before FH one day when she was in full kooky mood with a "unicorn" crazy hairdo and her cat eye glasses
After a presentation at Q's school and how scary FB is I've decided to be more regular here instead! ;)

Celebrating Asher

We had the time honored tradition of celebrating a new 2nd baby with a happy hour shower! Celebrating Thea and Asher was so much fun! He's such an adorable fella, and we had some pretty sweet girlfriends for him present as well. It's been such a fun baby year with all of these pals, I'm looking forward to watching them all grow up together!

A Day Off ~ Kubota Garden

Q had the day off and after visiting the Dr. for his 7! year old apt (he's in the 15%, up from the 13%, holding steady as a smaller dude, but great!),
we went down to the Museum of Flight per his request since he got the pass for his bday.
There was a fair amount of time spent waiting for this military helicopter to take off, and in the end we missed it, but exciting to watch it start up and then explore the museum with Hazel. There happened to be a Women in Flight fair of some kind going on so H was asked repeatedly if she wanted to be a pilot when she grew up to which she replied, "NO! I want to be a butterfly scientist ballerina." The college representatives and such were still happy to hand out their stickers, planes and so forth though, so then H just decided to put on her smile and take the handouts.
After that we went to the Kubota Garden. The kids ran around to their hearts content, they were happy to explore this new place, which is quite lovely anytime of year, but especially on such a sunny day!
Q especially got the whole concept of this being a peaceful environment.
They posed like crazy for me too.

Perhaps the garden staff wouldn't be delighted with me allowing my children to climb on the rocks, but they loved it.
I highly recommend this little outing to Kubota Garden if you are in the area!

Wonderland

The kids and I went to see the production of Alice in Wonderland put on by the middle school students at Maplewood. It was really a wonderful show! Hazel dressed up as "Alice" as she had the right costume (thanks Emri!):
Q and I got a little dressed up too, and we all had a fun time! Both of them laughed out loud repeatedly, which was adorable. I hope they want to be in a play someday, the drama girl in me would love to help!

Scare

I don't really write here much these days do I? I wish I could. I should write it onto my new weekly plan (thanks Teresa! ;)) one day a week, that would be nice...
Anyhoo, I have tons to share, events, a birthday, oh and you know I will (all 5 of you ;)) and I'll do it retroactively so I can eventually publish that yearly book of wacky zackeyness I have gotten determined to get each year!
But in the meantime... I have to say sometimes, not all too often thankfully my children like to scare me. H, she likes to nearly fall off things, or dangerously not look where she's going, she's well, a bit of a klutz. Q on the other hand is not at all, and very brave sometimes. Last weekend he exceeded my need for his "bravery" and scared the dickens out of me (and Anna). We were at Jenson's Point on Vashon (1st visit there I might add, and I had intended on going into the woods...) and he got out his new fishing pole with the video camera on it to show Jamie. Long story short, they went off down the beach the opposite way we thought they did and were gone nearly 25 minutes before wandering back thinking nothing was wrong. ACK! They were together, not drowned, just muddy and confused why we were worried. Apparently Q though he could still see us, though I'm sure he couldn't cause we were yelling for them and could not see them down the beach. Anna and I both hope that they will never do anything like this again. I was SO scared!
Ok, now to lighten the mood here is a picture of H finding a still warm egg at Nami and Danpa's:
And another of her and Mabel after our fun time visiting with the Pekoz fam:
The day was really full of fun times with all of the Anna's and their little ones, but being laced with a scare like that...does make one a tad exhausted! I posted on FB that day, "Parenting, it's not for wimps." Good thing I'm anything but a wimp! ;)
