4th of July 2015

What a day filled with small town Americana!
The singers, the parade:
The races:

H won first for incoming first grade girls! She even went sideways! 😉 H and I did the 3 legged race, and h and q did the brother sister wheelbarrow race. We all did the egg toss, and boy were those some tough eggs this year!
Then we had fun at the picnic, music watching, wrestling, ball playing, glow stick buying, rain avoiding, and fireworks watching!

Chill time in BA

For our 2 days of down time in BA we mainly stocked upon 4th and road trip supplies, played around, visited, and generally laid low.
Thursday morn found q and I on a scooter/walk to BATS.
Then Thursday eve we had our traditional picnic at the cathedral with the Rhodes family.

At home h and Gigi had some painting time. I'm so thankful H has Gigi to encourage and inspire her!

Friday we did more shopping, stopped for fresh pretzels, and got out the slip n slide toy!

The kids also have fun running to the park on their own now. I found them playing this cute chill game of red light green light.

Friday we also had Honore and boys over for pizza dinner and playtime!

Travel Day

Wednesday we spent as a travel day. With a bit of a slow start and Seattle traffic to contend with, we picked up Colin and made it to the airport with an hour and a half, which felt a little risky with bags to check and kids. We had a short line at US though and super short at security, and our gate was just past security, so in the end we'd hurried up to wait after all. Then our flight was a bit late...We made good time in the air though and h and I kept busy!
She is a great travel companion these days keeping me busy too. She requested a tent for the peg dolls I'd brought to decorate, and I used my time well to craft one. She and q had plenty of screen time (some academic thankfully), ate snacks, drew, and played with some new toys. Feel like traveling with them when they were younger is starting to pay off!

Upon arrival Gigi met us, then we waited and waited for our red bag to show up, which it finally did on another carousel..
At home we filled on our tasty arrival hoagies, and the kids went right to playing with old toys, firefly catching and running around to get travel energy out!

All in all a day well spent!

Adventure Awaits

Let this be a new record.
The Wacky Zackeys are about to embark on another wild adventure and it's important to me that we keep a better log of these cross country travels. What better place to keep this log than in our good ole  blog?!
I'd also really like for the kids to have a place to record thoughts and photos etc. We may backfill the stories of our Utah travels (so many pictures lost...😞), our east coast adventures, our New Mexico highlights and so forth, but for now we'll just try our best to keep up with this wild cross country adventure! Wish us luck!
