My kiddos were playing dress up this afternoon! Hazel was modeling her adorable hand knit peace vest and hat (originally Quin's) made by Todd's colleague Wendy:
Gosh, she's really a NW girl now eh? ;)
Then goofy Quin first put on his work gloves and "safety glasses" with his jester hat to help out in the shop:
Then, a little later Papa helped him put on his tool belt:
Finally, he was dudded out with his suspenders:

The Slow Morning Breakfast

Thursdays are our "off" days, which of course means I'm more "on" than ever. We don't have a playgroup or preschool, so it's often the day for errands or playdates, or a slower than cereal breakfast. Since Q woke up with a cough, the later was true for today. After H went down for her morning nap early I decided Q and I would try and whip up one of the many breakfast ideas in my to make list. So we tried this one. Yum!

Definitely easy, and tasty! Quin munched his all up in a flash, and so did I!

We Heart Sam!

It has been so fun to see so much of Teresa's little Sam as he is just beginning to get to be a bigger and bigger tiny guy! Quin was really sweet with him at VPG on Monday (his 6 week bday), and we all adore him so!
Quin was actually being very sweet with Sam, much sweeter than he is with his own sister! Even not quite here yet Emily loves Sam! ;)Callie is SO good with ALL the little ones!Yep, Sam, we HEART you!

I Heart Mondays!

I know, I know in a few years time I will be back with the rest of you in the crowd of Monday haters, but for now, I love Mondays! After a busy weekend, which we seem to always have these days, it's so nice to get back to our routine and such, even if this does mean more work for me! I have two more reasons to love Mondays though: Vashon Playgroup (VPG) and Papa swim time on Monday nights.
There is something about starting out the week seeing good friends and their adorable babies, today was no exception! Plus, Mom/Nami was here AND Callie! What a treat to have help for VPG!

We all had a fabulous time visiting of course! It was a little tricky to get a group shot with these squirrely little monkeys, here one of the best:
Notice the lack of Taj's baby Emily (who is coming on Friday!) and the addition of Teresa's Sam. We are however missing Anna and Jamie, they've got a sick bug. :(

We'll try for a group shot again next month when we will celebrate 3 birthdays in the group, Quin (3), Charlotte (2) and Ella (1)!
And now, it's Monday night, Quin and Papa had a great time swimming, dinner was tasty (Pesto chicken on penne with fresh bread and salad, in case you wondered ;)), and Hazel and I had a good old time playing together. Oh, now that's the way to start off the week!

Food Time!

This afternoon Hazel was doing a lot of tongue wagging:
while in her chair, and seemed curious about what Nami and I were eating, SO, I decided I just couldn't wait any longer to feed her. We put on her soanna bib, mixed up a tiny bit of rice cereal and gave it a try.
She mostly spit it out, made weird faces and such. She was very curious indeed about the spoon though and gave us plenty of big smiles too. Goodness what fun we may now have with this new phase!

Obama Glee

What glee our family felt today with the new prez taking office! Ok, some of us were trying to feel the glee (aka listen and watch the inauguration), while others were trying to be their normal baby/kid selves...

No really, we are pretty excited. Quin has been referring to all American flags as "Obama flags" for the past few weeks. Here he is eating an "Obama flag" cupcake when we were with Dashel and Cassie yesterday:
And Hazel, yep, she's thrilled too! And I feel lucky to have a daughter who was born in the year this wonderful man was elected!

Boing Boing Boing!

Ok, I thought back in December Quin had the ultimate day, but gee, it seems that this little guy might just be one lucky fella this year too! Today he was invited to not 1 but 2 bouncy house birthday parties! So, 1 was this morning in celebration of our good buddies Alex and Gabe from our original PEPS group, and the 2nd was this evening for our new preschool friend Andre! I was lucky enough to have my own party to go to with Hazel, a baby shower for Taj:

So, Papa got to take Quinnie this morning. They jumped to their hearts content, slid, went throught the bouncy obstancle course etc, then had some tasty treats. Thankfully after all that Q did take a good nap. Good thing too cause not long after it, we had some early dinner, took a quick Theo walk, and headed up to the next bouncy party. Lucky Mama put H down for a nap and got to go with just Quinnie, a rare treat! So, Q and I bounced,

(after all that practice this morning, Q was super fast this evening!)

and ate even more treats, yum! And Papa made the "booby call" just as we were heading out, hurray. Wow, this boy is spoiled and I sure expect him to sleep well tonight!

I love you THIS Big

I adore it when Quin does this:
and says "I love you this big!" and he's been doing it quite often these days in a very sweet and sincere way. Ahhh, see he really can be an angel!

Our Pal Jamie + Aquarium Toddler Style Part 2

We had another blast of a time at the Aquarium today, and this time with our pal Jamie, and his Mama Anna. The boys were pretty cute together today:
After her lovely morning nap (whilst Q was painting away) Hazel woke to some toy jelly fish playtime:
Then, post toddler time upstairs we saw some real jellyfish downstairs, and posed yawning in the wooden one:We also watched the octopus getting fed. Well, Jamie was busy pointing out the "pink" bootie lady to us:

We met Pinky the new harbor seal, who is saying "hi" here to the navy gang:

All dressed up with nowhere to go

I've been having so much fun dressing Hazel up in dresses lately, I'm addicted to it! I think I've put her in dresses the last 8 out of 10 days, with pants underneath of course! I especially love that some of the dresses she wore when she was tiny are now shirt/dresses.
