Q's field trip with preschool this week was to Arena Sports for a Lil' Kickers Soccer class. Oh man did he LOVE it! As did the rest of the class.
They had a great coach and he kept our active group moving so it was easy to see why they had so much fun, though the bouncy house time afterward sure didn't hurt.
H was a lucky sister to get to tag along on this one, and she was all smiles too!
H playing fetch the dot!
Now I've got to go sign Q up for spring soccer and maybe H a Mom and tot soccer class too!Pages

Babies and Houses
What was it about this past week!?! Not only were we busily working on our new home, but we know 2 families who made offers on new homes and 2 more who had babies! Wow! Hopefully we'll keep up the good work and get to get away and see a new home or new baby or 2.

Advice
Cause I always like to share good advice when I see it, and here it's all in one place. Really, when you've got a moment, read these thoughts in the comments section:

Peeling Off
Ooo, just had that peeling the elmer's glue off my hand feeling like I did in 3rd grade, by ripping off all the carpet and padding tonight! I just went over and did it, and took out all the padding staples too. Much more fun than painting at night (especially while listening to podcasts). Not so much fun to get all the tack strips off though, I'll save that for the work weekend ahead of us. Oh and it will be a productive weekend I'm sure!

Former Teacher
Sometimes I'm glad I was once a 1st grade teacher. Like today when I was inspired to stop by Math 'n' Stuff and pick up a big pack of pattern blocks. Oh how I love pattern blocks. I had the kiddos create with them, filling in printed activity pages making their own designs etc, and so we had "math time" at the Roberts.
After Marsh completed his, he worked on making "whole" shapes
(the hexagon being 1 whole) with different combinations of smaller blocks.
Josie got a little help with hers (H was still asleep).
And Q flipped his train over after he was finished to trace around the shapes, fine by me!

Digging In
Well, since last weekend we've been working our tail feathers off at the new house and have crossed off some of the significant list of to-do's before we move in. First up, the back fence (yay Todd!) which should be temporary as we'd like a garage to go in that spot sometime soon. Then Todd and Dad (yay Dad!) worked on fixing the plumbing prob with the hot water in the main bath (the being the big and necessary project we got closing costs for). Now Todd just gets to finish putting everything back together since it impacted our kitchen as well. Also, we've been painting away.
Dashel and Cassie helped me paint the living room, Mom did Hazel's room, and I'll be burning the midnight oil again I'm sure to get Quin and our rooms done as well. Or maybe not thanks to some awesome friends who've already volunteered their Quin watching services ;)!
And we get to rip out the carpet downstairs to expose hardwoods that have been covered their whole lives. The goal is to get as much done as we can so we can move in big stuff soon. I'm done being unsettled, it's been over half a year after all, and I like the idea of maybe someday soon having everything in it's place. That said, I'm tired (and really I ought not complain as it's my husband up going off for field season work well before dawn), but our children still don't sleep well, and life is busy. Someday it will slow down, we'll really live in our new home, and we can be tired there, in our beautiful new backyard, while our children garden around us.
Hazel in what I hope will be our little veggie garden this year.
