Loganberry Festival

While Papa Todd was off on a long bike ride wit his work buddy Diego on Sunday we went over to the Loganberry festival in Greenbank. It was at the picturesque Greenbank farm and we all enjoyed the festivities,
like the pie eating contest for kids!

face painting (by kids, for kids!):

H got a "monkey bird" of course!

After the kids had lots of fun doing all those fun kids carnival activities, bouncing, putting, fishing etc. There was still more,
duck feeding:

music listening:

and lots of run around time on these beautiful grounds:

Dressy:15-16x2

We're getting into some of H's fancier dresses this week just for fun!

* Ha! I have to note here it looks like she is both posing with her foot up and hands in pockets which don't even exist! She plays along with me with this silly dress up thing, but not that much! *

Though really she was mostly naked today! She's all about the potty training, yee haw!

H Stats @ 2

Hazel is almost 2! Since her birthday is next week while we'll be off on Whidbey I scheduled her 2 year old Dr. visit a little early. So, though some think her little, and some tall, she's:
25% for weight at 24 lbs.
50% for height at 33 1/4"
75% for head at 49cm which is likely due to her hair which must be in the 95% ;)
She's in the 100% for cuteness factor in my opinion though. She's all about the upside down sunglasses, as seen at the store yesterday, and also during her Dr. visit today in fact:

Summer Reads

Just cause my husband thinks I'm a dork by making our mantel look like a library doesn't mean I shouldn't share these:
(Plus it gives me one last chance to show you the 4th of July garland I made from our "firecracker" paintings)
Of course these are just a few of the vast numbers we've been reading and checking out. I'm using the kids as guinea pigs for some of what we'll be reading in Froggy Holler. Any other "must reads" (kid or adult) you'd recommend this summer?

THE Summer List

Ok, cause I know you already think I'm an overachiever (really I just use outings as a way to avoid housework/I LOVE them!), AND Thea told me I should blog about it, I will now share with you our summer to do list, it's just a mite bit longish, but as you can see (ooo, how I love thee strikeout font!), summer is over half over and we've done pretty well! I have to say though that we usually do our activity for the day in the morn that way we can still have nap/quiet time and laze around in the pm, plus we have off days here and there too, phew. Q and I made up this list, which is partially why ice cream appears 3 times (cause he and I share a love for it), and many of these ideas are ongoing, so we still hope to enjoy lots more play dates, concerts and such, oh boy!

Dress Days: 9-14

I ought to say by now that I have purchased VERY few of Hazel's massive collection of dresses (2 I think from Costco), most have come via Q's pals Olea and Mary, and the oh so generous and clothes shopping maven Gigi. Many of these have been fitting her for quite some time and some I imagine will still be in the repertoire next summer as well. So that said, here are the recent ones, ahh...

I can't have her smiling in all of them I suppose story with this one, which is a Mary item, was after she wore it briefly she got pee on it (result of beginning potty training...) and she got to wear shorts instead!
11
She was dressed and ready to head off to Vashon early (aka before breakfast) that day wearing her beloved horsie attire.
12
This will be the goofiest I dress her, I swear, but her coordinating pants were dirty and she insisted on wearing the dress cause we were on Vashon for Strawberry Festival after all! In fact, I skipped a day cause her Strawberry attire day 1 was gasp a skirt/shirt combo!
13

What do you want with me?
No really, it's getting harder and harder for me to get a picture of her not making her super cheese face so this was post hiding.
14
The story: we have ADORED this Gigi dress, which is now looking less like a dress I see. She was answering my question of how old she is? Her answer these days might be "almost 2", but more likely is "8", or "4 and a half", or apparently 10 as well.

Strawberry Festival '10!

This may mark the beginning of the smallest Zackey's really enjoying the festival. H was a HUGE fan of the flying candy and seeing her pal Ella, while Q was also a fan of the vast amount of treats but really adored his time with his buddy Jamie. I was a huge fan of all the time I got to spend seeing my own old pals, including my old childhood neighbor Emily (up from her home in Mexico with new baby Caleb!), and of course Anna and Kenan with baby Mabel (only a day younger than Caleb). Papa enjoys his own time with pals on the rock too! So, here is the album of all of the fun:
