The Zackeys are on our big adventure for the summer, a 3 week trip back east! We flew out to Philly on Saturday, but not without a little wackiness...On Friday night I went to check in and got through the most of the family (Gigi had used frequent flyers for Todd and Quin so those tix were separate) and when I got to my own ticket, BAM, I ran into trouble! It turns out the guy who I had to make the reservations through (it was a voucher so I had to call it in) made a typo and had made my flight for June 20th. So, I was a no show for that flight, and had no tickets for the 30th, you know the one with the 3 year old sitting by herself. It was pretty obvious it was their error, but the guy I talked to didn't seem to understand and was going to charge us nearly $500 to get the new ticket. I was pretty irked and though I remained fairly calm on the phone it seemed like there was nothing I was going to be able to do, so I called in the US Air expert, Gigi. She explained all the logic to them and worked it out, so I got on, no charge, all was well by travel day with the exception of needing to switch seats to be next to a kiddo...
SO, by the time we got to the plane, we were ready for an uneventful flight, which is pretty much what we had! When we got on the plane as we waited for the line to move down the aisle we said hi to the pilots and they let us on into the cockpit, Q was a little shy,
and H was excited!
The kids did really well on the flight, they well behaved and well entertained by all the special items I'd prepared for them.
I got to sit by Q, which was fun treat for me, and Todd said H did well by him. The flight even arrived in early.
After getting to Gigi's we enjoyed the warm evening, had tasty hoagies as per tradition, and loved playing with lightening bugs
and time on the playground. We were all tired out and so we hit the hay earlyish to help adjust to the time change. We're happy to be here!
