SEVEN!

Quin turned 7 today! He is such a boy, I mean 7?! Every year that passes seems like a big deal, but 7 just seems so old. I guess I'll probably be saying that next year too, but remember he was just this pip squeak, like a few seconds ago...
Anyhow, we celebrated him right off the bat this morning cause for the first time in his life he was at school all day on his birthday! He didn't seem to mind a bit, he had a great day, but I wanted to make sure the day started off special for sure, so I had his door all set...
Ironically he popped out of his bed early, crawled right under this, snuck into bed with me (had a bad dream) and woke up on his birthday snuggled right next to me. Well, hmmm 7 doesn't seem so bad after all. Then he smiled when he woke up for real and saw the trap and the gift, and happily climbed back into bed so he could have breakfast in bed as requested.

H helped me set and bring up his tray which was filled with his own dutch bunny, though he kindly invited H up to share with him:
Then he was off to school, it was a PE day his favorite, and I think generally he felt special all day, and then had legos to build upon arriving back home, so it was a pretty good day for him!
This was the set he picked out from Pop Zack and Grandma Trish!
When Papa got home he opened up a few more little gifts from us, including I know you can't believe it...legos! ;)
And then we went out to dinner, one of his current favorites is still is hamburgers!
It was a nice day celebrating our 7 year old!
Now I'm going to go back and oogle over his baby pictures...

Quin's Flight Adventure!

This year Quin chose to have a "flight adventure" for his birthday! We met at our house, had a pilot's quick lunch, made a few paper airplanes, and then took off to the Museum of Flight!
It was fun in the "party bus" on the way down, and the kids had a great time exploring the museum together.
Quin took us through the WW1 and WW2 exhibits first, they are his favorite!

We also had fun checking out the new space shuttle trainer exhibit and going on board the Air Force One and other planes outside as well.

Each kiddo took a turn in the different cockpits:

There was also a special engineering event going on at the museum, and it turned out to be full of fun exhibits for the kids, with lots of learning opportunities and freebies! We will have to plan on attending next year for sure!
Then after a few more quick stops (space suit pic op and the gift shop) we headed out! We arrived back home almost an hour later than expected and sang happy birthday to Q (he had a giant cookie "cake" request this year), opened gifts and played together a little more.

It was such a full, fun and special day! We topped it off with a take out dinner with Nami, Danpa and Uncle Dashel! Celebrating 7 is an adventure worthy deal! Yay Quin!

The Great Wheel

Some friends of Patti's were in town with their 4 year old daughter and so we met them a the waterfront to play tourist with them! We met at the aquarium and then headed to the great wheel.
It couldn't have been better timing as we made it through the line and up on the wheel right at sunset!

It was so incredible up there, and I'm so glad we had this excuse to go!

New Year's Eve Wacky Style

We had a fun little New Year's Eve Wacky Zackey style! We played games new and old, Todd gave the kids new PVC fort materials, we had a feast of apps, and had a silly dance party! It was really pretty chill, which was just right after a busy Christmas.
We cheered with the kids at 9 to ring in the new year New York style!

Butterfly Fun with the Girls!

We celebrated the last day of the year with a fun little girl trip to the Science Center (Q stayed home with Papa and had Olea over to play!). We enjoyed playtime there, and the butterfly house. The 3D butterfly movie was the highlight, the best being when the kids all reached out to try and grab the butterflies!

Looking forward to more science center fun this next year with our pals!

Meeting Twins!

What a better way to end out this year of babies then by meeting 2 more?! And the bonus, one is ERIN! New baby Erin and her twin brother Brady are the little sibs of one of my students Alyce, whom I've taught for the past few years now! I brought them a meal after Christmas and got to have some snuggle time.

They are each a wonderful size for being twins, but still so tiny, and lovely to snuggle! Congrats Conroy family!
