Hazel's 2 month Birthday!

Hazel is my little 2 month old sweetie!
She celebrated her 2 month birthday at a fun Mom's night
gathering at my friend
Carrie's home on Saturday.
Her 2 month Dr.'s Appointment was this morning and she is doing wonderfully. She weighs in at exactly 11 lbs. which was my guess! That puts her in the 50% for weight, and she's at 22" so she's 25% for height and her head is in the 50% as well. Had they done a hair growth %, I'm sure she'd be off the charts! ;)
She's tracking (loves her mobile as well) and smiling up a storm.
She loves to smile and make faces with Cassie and Uncle Dashel:
She's doing a great job lifting her head from side to side
and even pushing up a bit on her arms: Dr. Reese thought she may very well decide to roll early since she likes being on her tummy so much. I told her, thanks anyway, Hazel doesn't need to go anywhere too fast, I've already got one of those kiddos!
She was pretty sad to get her shots today and now she's pretty sleepy, so I'm going to take advantage and hit the hay!

Life is like a bowl full of Cherries...

Cherry Tomatoes that is...
We've been enjoying these beauties from our garden for a few weeks now and I may just have enough extra to save for winter.
We've also been loaded with plums, so I canned some tasty plum chutney, and am looking to try plum jam and a little plum sauce as well. Ahh...harvest time.

The Many Faces of Hazel

For a little gal Hazel sure has a lot of different facial expressions these days. Here's a look at some of them:

My Cowgirl and Cowboy

We went to Vashon last Sunday and Hazel took her first horsey "ride"! ;) Quin was saying, "Get Hazel off Tommy!" but I think she was having fun up there!
I'm sure Nami was, envisioning her granddaughter one day being a little cowgirl by her side.
And Quin, he likes to be a cowboy from the sidelines,
asleep.

Therapy

My Mom Therapy= Playgroups!
These groups have provided a network of friends for me to talk to as I adjust to becoming a mom of two, and I love to be social so I am very thankful that I am a part of these groups.
The first was Little PEPpers, which like PEPS is a place for a great group of moms to share our weekly highs and lows, talk through everything from sleep issues to recipe ideas to husbands. Little PEPpers is mostly Moms with two little ones, so they can relate! I started this group this past summer preggers with Hazel, so it was wild to end the group this past week, with her being so much more alert and aware of everyone. Meg, our OUTSTANDING leader held her, for a long time as she is such a sweet and calm person.
I have really liked getting to know yet another group of diverse, caring and supportive moms. We are planning more gatherings even though our actual group is over. I'm really looking forward to the Mom's night coming up and the group cooking party.
My other Mom's group right now is my Vashon Playgroup! This is so fun as we have all grown up together so there is this natural ease that comes with getting together. I look foward to lots of fun outings with my Vashon friends this fall, and hopefully wild man Quin will ease up a bit so I don't have to run ragged chasing him down left and right! ;)

The Bum Genius Ad

I think my babies would make a good bum genius
(the cloth diapers they sport) ad, don't you?
