This may mark the beginning of the smallest Zackey's really enjoying the festival. H was a HUGE fan of the flying candy and seeing her pal Ella, while Q was also a fan of the vast amount of treats but really adored his time with his buddy Jamie. I was a huge fan of all the time I got to spend seeing my own old pals, including my old childhood neighbor Emily (up from her home in Mexico with new baby Caleb!), and of course Anna and Kenan with baby Mabel (only a day younger than Caleb). Papa enjoys his own time with pals on the rock too! So, here is the album of all of the fun:

A Playground Sort of Day
It was the sort of summer day that started out bright and early, you know the sort...so we hit up 3 playgrounds to enjoy all the sun! First off, the vacant skate park before any skaters were awake:
The best part may have been the getting back out bit!
Then it was off to Salmon Bay playground with Trez and kids, Q and Mary held hands the whole way:
bestill my beating heart, ahhh
Then after napping/quiet time at Trezzie's we headed back up to a new to us spray park right in Lynnwood to visit Thea and Sai.
The long lost ice cream truck even made an appearance (Q has been dying for this!):
What a fun day it was!

Dress Days: 6-8
The break from the sunny weather day. We didn't mind a bit, we played trains in our rearranged playroom in the am, and by the pm it was sunny again!
There she goes showing off her little ouchie again!

International District Summer Fest
The Wacky Zackeys may not yet be world travelers, but that doesn't mean we can't experience all sorts of cultural events right here in our region.
We went down to the International District today for dim sum,
and then enjoyed the festivities of the 2010 Summer Fest.
The kids really enjoyed the musical and dancing performances we were there for. Firstly, the amazing Indian dancer, H tried to mimic a bit, and then the Taiko drumming. The kids inspired a number of other kid dance followers, a photographer (who did get our names etc. so we hope to see his pictures eventually) and compliments from the performers. Cassie and Dashel joined us too, and also got to see the kids put on a show. Here are some snippits:
* Oh and I found another perspective:
Then, a highlight for Q was when his pal Alex popped up right after the show!
Then, a highlight for Q was when his pal Alex popped up right after the show!
Q was pleased as punch to see him and run around a bit with his pal, then do some more drumming before we had to head home. We'll mark this on our summer to do list again for sure!
God Thoughts By Quin
I'm not sure what inspired these thoughts of Quin's. I'd say he ought to read the religion and ecology series
(Papa Todd filmed this series at Harvard while he was at Bucknell), but that might be a little dense for him. I guess I better get reading. Sorry this is so hard to hear, not sure about the speakers on this camera, and H who was being a "monkey bird!" happily in the swing next to him didn't help either.

Beating the Heat: Forest Park
Maybe I'm not a true Seattlite after all, or maybe I just don't have much to complain about cause I haven't been stuck in a hot office building/house etc. for the past few days, but I love this weather! I love that it gives us the excuse to do all these summery things all at once. This week besides eating large quantities of ice cream and popscicles,
here the kids are eating my attempt at homemade fresh strawberry ice cream which resulted in a delicious milk shake
we've had fun visits with all sorts of friends in all sorts of fun spots, including our own backyard (which is particularly lovely and cool, feel free to invite yourself over!).
"Hazel's rolling in the grass!"
Yesterday we went up to Everett's Forest Park with the Roberts. We went on their obligatory "hike" (they are doing 1 hike, 1 adventure, and 1 science experiment every week this summer!), then enjoyed the rest of this park's awesome features, the playground, the spray park, and the petting zoo!
all hikes ought to include cute photo opts and log climbing:
H is such a happy farm girl!
Whereas Q is a serious farm boy:
They all thought they were kids:
I'm sure this won't be our last visit to this amazing park this summer!
