We went over to "Marshall's Woods" (aka Yost Park, also by Gigi's in Edmonds) today for a cute little Watershed Fair. This was our kind of event: very quiet cause there is also a big Waterfront Festival happening in Edmonds this weekend, plus nice n' earthy and crafty, and right NEXT to the woods. So, Quin demonstrated some of his great crafting and fine motor skills (collage, rubbings, coloring, careful beading, which ummm I broke but fixed...), said "hi", hugged, gave high fives and was even picked up by this "Ranger Rick" racoon:
(Um hey Q there's a fly on your face, let me just wap that off for you! ;))H was definately a little more suspiscious of this giant stuffed animal:
("Ummm, no thanks, Ill keep my hands away from you!")We also listened to some native stories in the giant inflated turtle:
Q, was a good little drummer for the speaker, and started us off on a song about mother earth:
Then he was alternately doing some nice dancing to the music and looking in this storm drain:
He's quite the character this guy.Of course then we took a nice little walk along the trail in the park, and Q and Papa did some searching for "real fish". He's certainly learning a lot of environmental awareness from his Papa, and I'm SO thankful!
