I feel like H is changing so much these days I need to stop and write down a bit about what she's up to. So, at 17 months H is:
Quite the charmer with her cheesy grins, frequent "hi's!" to friends and strangers alike, and hugs and kisses for all when we're leaving any sort of gathering.
H, modeling those kissy lips of her on Q's orange smile.
Is a total parrot with talking, she learns new words everyday! She loves identifying animals right now, and has recently learned orca, giraffe, elephant, and others I'm sure. She's also fascinated with identifying people in pictures, or in person.
Grabs your hand to guide it back to rubbing her back at bedtime, or to feel the touch and feel pages of her book.
Would rather be in her birthday suit than clothed, and loves running around the house escaping her diaper and clothes while laughing hysterically.
Sits on her tiny potty and has to have a "book, book, book!" to be just like Q.
She has her potty time every night now before or after her bath, no real pottying happening yet, but hey she loves it!
Still working on becoming a super sleeper, but getting better, we like to think. There was a phase about a month ago where she was going to sleep easily, only uttered one little peep until 4 am, and then would nurse back to sleep for another few hours. While getting a new tooth before Christmas, and then through the holidays she got worse again, and is currently waking in right in the middle of the night and having a hard time getting back to sleep, uggg.
Is still a serious nurse-a-holic, wow, Q definitely didn't nurse nearly this much at this age, in fact he was practically done (well at 20 months or so). And she's SO demanding about it, "nursee, nursee, nurseeeee!" Sheesh! That said, she's so sweet about it too, and still doesn't drink cow's milk, so I'm not close to ready to being done either, plus I like that extra sleep in the morning.
Is clearly a strong willed little gal, like her bro, like her Mama, like her Papa. No lack of spirit in this family!
I took this pic after H grabbed the camera down off the table and said, "cheese".
Loves books, and is a big fan of those with flaps, and animals that she can mimic the sounds of, and she loves books that are songs she can bop along to.
Is an eager assistant to Q for his various projects, like block buildings, lego creations, fort building, etc. (though Q is still learning to tolerate her unintended knock downs).
Every time we leave the house, she stands at the stoop saying, "Brutha, brutha, brutha" until he comes and takes her hand to guide her down the walkway to the van.
She still loves to draw, draw, draw, play with playdoh, and paint etc. and so maybe we'll inspire her to be crafty too!
Oh, wow, there was a lot I had to say, she is SUCH a sweetie. I feel so lucky to have this little girl in my life!
