On the Fourth Day of Advent...Part One

Part One:
A surprise trip downtown! We got the morning off and went downtown to see the Teddy Bear Room at the Fairmont, ride the carousel at Westlake, and see the Gingerbread Houses at the Sheraton. In between, we also had a nice quiet visit to the impressive Seattle Public Library, and a simple Sbucks lunch. Uncle Dashel joined us for the carousel and gingerbread houses, so it was fun to share those experiences with him!
Q and H were both a bit perplexed by this Santa statue in the lobbyThe impressive Fairmont Christmas tree:H was more than a little obsessed with all the "balls!" on the treesThe candy tree was Q's fav:H sneaking into the bathroom of bears:Yep, I thought all those bears on one big big with that fancy lamp in the background was a little iffy for kids too, Q:We had such a great time at the Library, I'm sure we'll make many treks back:Q was the proud rider of "Lightning"!H was in a bit of shock I think on the carousel ride, but Mama was happy:Dashel's favorite Gingerbread creation was the Christmas Story one, the candy leg lamp was pretty amazing (the theme was "A Reel Christmas"):Q, really loved the Grinch one, the It's a Wonderful Life one, but most of all: the little candy cane the Juvenile Diabetes Association Volunteer gave him:
The great thing about this surprise trip downtown, was that it was really quite mellow. We were early enough in the season and in the day that we really avoided any crowds, which makes this Mama enjoy those special moments oh so much more.
We had such an exciting time, that both kiddos napped on the way home, which was a good thing, cause it helped them rest up for Part Two...
