On the Twelfth Day of Advent, Part 1

We had the best Santa experience so far today! Well, maybe Hazel would disagree, as she wasn't so fond of the big guy, but he was really quite nice! He has a little cabin up at the Saturday Market on Vashon, and it was the perfect situation, calm, barely a line, jolly Santa, quick photographer (and also quite patient given we opted to join the kids in the picture, as H was so terrified), and candy canes of course (which redeemed the big guy for H). So, I may have to alter my plans of visiting a different Santa every year ;):and call this our new tradition:ooo, this candy cane does look good
Giving St. Nick high fives, H did eventually too
He was such a sweet Santa he even came out and sang carols with us outside
We met the Sander's up there and Anna caught the Ella and H hug sweetly.
After wandering around the market a bit and visiting the bookshop, we headed over to Bank Road Pond as all this cold weather has kept it nice and solid! Checking out all the interesting frozen plants (this pond is only maybe 4 feet thick at the most)
We joined the Sander's again and slid our way the entire length of the pond to the Peterson's collection of skates. H, did surprisingly well on the slippery ice in her mary janes, not falling once.
Looking reeallly cute while she was at it
And very determined to "walk" the whole length herself
And they had a little pair of Q sized skates!
So, he had his very first ice skating experience! He was a little wobbly of course, didn't quite get the concept that you can't take steps.
Woah!
I found a pair my size too and had lots of fun on my own, and with Q gliding with me. Mom and Dad came down too, to check out the fun!
It sure was a blast of a morning!
*Now this post is waaaayy too long, so I'll go ahead and do a part 2. ;)
