On the Second Day of Advent

It was Hazel's turn to do something special today, so on the second day of advent she and I went to see Carl and get a new seasonal book down at 3rd Place today while Q was in school. She was so interested in him, as her in her. He is an amazing dog, this 4th Carl.

My, how H has grown in 6 months.
After having a grand old time on his back, she had a fantastic time playing catch with him! It was really quite sweet, he really is a "good dog".
This is the new book we've added to our autographed collection. H really does love these books, nearly as much as Q did when he was her age.
Since Q didn't know he was missing out on today's activity, his advent activity was reading of course (today was a personal fav Bear Noel for Q, and Pat the Christmas Bunny for H), and gathering branches for the advent bags, and other winter nature items in woods of Yost Park. It was pretty chilly and the boys ended up being quite happy "fishing", throwing leaves and sticks in the water, noticing stagnant water and nurse logs, and generally having fun in the wintery woods. These are the days I love being a Mom!
