While we Zackey's celebrate the earth everyday ;), today we appreciated being outside enjoying our Earth! It was lovely weather again, thank goodness. So, we trekked down to Ballard to visit our pals Trez, Mary and Cole and their new pet chameleons.

We did a little backyard sliding and flower picking while there. Later ran a few Ballard errands, walking instead of driving between shops as requested by my energetic and sun happy kidlets. Then, back home this pm Thea and Sai came by. There was some sidewalk chalk drawing on the patio, toy rocket throwing, snack eating, and a trip to Edmonds Woodway HS for "baby's first track meet". Really, the kids seemed to love sitting up in those big bleachers being the loudest fans out there clapping and cheering on the runners. Mama was a bit inspired and reminded she really loves to run, and ought to get back to it! Thea and I decided we need to regularly walk our kids together as Q and Sai loved holding hands side by side in their respective strollers. So, I think we'll oblige them in the future. Then we stopped at the Chase Lake playground where my kids got themselves silly dizzy on the tire swings. So, while I'm lacking in wonderful photos of those moments, the sweet gummy grins of Sai's, post swing too dizzy hugs of H's, and goofy happy Q giggles, are certainly in my mind's camera for now.
Here are some crab dinner photos for you though, cause nothing says, "Happy Earth Day" like eating with pliers!

H wasn't as interested in the crab, she stuck to lasagna from last night, and fulfilling her role as "Cous Cous Queen":

H was saying "Hazel's Mama" while hugging. Ah, icing on the cake of my day!
